Gus Archie Scholarship Program

The Gus Archie Memorial Scholarship is supported by the Archie Fund of the SPE Foundation and awards an outstanding student who plans to enter a university and pursue an undergraduate degree in petroleum engineering. The student will receive $6,000 per year for up to four years of university study.

 Eligibility

To apply, you must:
  • Intend to enroll in petroleum engineering in a recognized university program according to your country or region, leading to an undergraduate degree in petroleum engineering
  • Upload an appraisal from your high school principal, adviser or counselor with your academic history
  • Complete the electronic submission process
If awarded, each semester, you must:
  • Be enrolled in a petroleum engineering class by the beginning of the second year of university
  • Remain in petroleum engineering degree program
  • Maintain at least 2/3 of a full academic load
  • Have and maintain a satisfactory average of scores/marks for the current semester and cumulative total

To Apply

  1. Fill out the online application form
    • Create an account if this is your first time applying for this scholarship online (you will not be able to sign in with your SPE login)
    • Ensure you answer all questions and add your essay
  2. Upload your letters of recommendation indicating your aptitude, leadership qualities, character and responsibility
  3. Upload your university entrance exam scores/marks with documentation explaining how to interpret the scores
  4. Verify your intent to study petroleum engineering and your agreement to the statements listed by checking the “I Agree” box and then click "Submit".

WorkCover South Australia Industry Scholarship Program

The program is designed to encourage and support people working in the South Australian workers compensation industry to undertake study within the developing framework of industry specific qualifications.

To be eligible for the 2012 scholarship, applicants must currently be employed by a South Australian claims agent, a self insurer, WorkCover, an approved workplace rehabilitation provider or be employed as a Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator and have their employer's support to undertake one of the available courses.
Applicants must also have confirmation from the Personal Injury Education Foundation (PIEF) and or DeakinPrime (which is part of Deakin University) that they meet all prerequisits for enrolment.

Four scholarships will be available for individuals who wish to undertake one of the following PIEF qualifications:
  • Graduate Certificate of Management (Personal Injury)
  • Graduate Diploma of Management (Personal Injury)
  • Master of Management (Personal Injury)
  • Master of Business (Personal Injury)
Each scholarship will be worth a maximum of $15,000 per year. Scholarship funds can be used by participants and/or their employer to claim reimbursement of:
  • tuition fees
  • residential study fees (including PIEF charges for meals and accommodation)
  • economy airfares to attend residential study sessions.

Scholarship to study in France

The French Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs and GDF SUEZ have decided to create a programme to host and support high-level foreign students in France. The co-financed GDF SUEZ / MAEE scholarship programme for the 2012-2013 academic year is aimed at students from Brazil, Chile, India and Lebanon who are currently studying in their country. For the 2012-2013 academic year, four to six scholarships will be awarded. The application deadline is 11 May 2012, and the results will be announced no later than 20 June 2012. The GDF SUEZ / MAEE co-financed academic scholarships are awarded for one year of studies in France at the Master 2 level,at the Polytechnic School.The Polytechnic school will guarantee support for the recipients before their departure and during their stay in France, including: preparation for arrival in France, assistance with administrative formalities upon arrival in France, reservation of on-campus housing at the institution.

Eligibility

-You are a national of Brazil, Chile, India, Lebanon.
- You apply to the course(s) proposed according to your home country.
- You are no more than 28 years of age in the year in which you are selected.
- You are not already benefiting from a scholarship from the French government or from another
company.
- You do not have a previous commitment with another company at the time of your arrival in
France, such as company grant, an open-ended employment contract, an apprenticeship
contract, etc.
- You are a student in your country of origin and have at least completed 4 years of undergraduate
studies in Science or Engineering.
- You show an interest in the GDF SUEZ Group.
